Exclusive
Territory, Trophy Caribou
If you love the thrill of a caribou hunt, you can’t make
a better choice. We have exclusive access to over 4,500 square
miles of native-owned territory along the Hudson’s Bay
Coast and Minto Lake areas. This area forms the headwaters of
the majestic Leaf River, and is one of the largest fresh water
lake systems found in the western sectors of Hudson’s
Bay. These native-owned territories are right in the main migration
routes and summering areas of the Leaf River Caribou herd. The
most recent census and survey numbers the herds passing through
this area at over 650,000 head. The rich habitat and immense
waterways help to slow down caribou migrations and hold the
animals longer, especially since our area is the pre-rut staging
area.
The bulls here are big and the record proves it. In the past
11 years, the Minto Lake territory has had the highest number
of record bull entries in the Pope and Young record book. In
the recent 2005 season, we averaged over 50-60% animals that
would have made P & Y. Close to 10% of these animals will
also make the B & C record book.
It’s hard to beat a success rate like that. Join us for
a hunt you will never forget! Check out the packages below and
be sure to book early. Dates for 2006 and 2007 are filling fast. |
